Off and Running with another year. Ready to make show plans and get these ladies riding. Looking forward to moving some horses up and generate some new blood. Tully is moving along with New Hope and fun pony years are ahead. Please stay tuned for our show schedule.
OK--SORRY ALL- IT HAS BEEN WAY TOO LONG!!! MARCH 2010 ALREADY HERE--YIKES!!!!!!HERE IS UPDATE!!
All is well here at Bayview. There have been Goodbyes. My sweet CJ -31 year old school horse -has gone to rolling hills and oak trees in the sky. I am proud to have been her compadre for 26 years.
As many of you know I had a bad fall in Dec-08 and came out with a broken back. I have been healing and can do my rides relatively pain free. My residual problems come around my day to day living but I am grateful that what I love most is the least painful. (Ironic). It is a process I am diligently working with to obtain premium health before old age takes over, although I am waging war on that process as well.
The lovely Hunter I started for the Eisenhut's, Georgie also was a goodbye, having lost his very young life to a large tumor on and around his heart. There was much excitement around him and I will truly miss him.
My ladies of Bayview are all gearing up for this season. It goes without saying that the economy has squelched a busy travel calendar, but we will do our best to make sure the few shows we are attending will be ongoing highlights of personal bests and fun memory making. Brenda is on course with her young hunter Henry, her darling jumper Jubilee, and this may be a coming out year for Esperanza, her amazing prospect. Beba is back on Kostner while Georgia is leased to Laura Gerst for a bit. CJ with Risa, as well as, Eliane with Revere, and Ursula with Ratissimo are tuning up. Denise and Brodie are also getting ready for their bid at making Ariat Adult Medal contenders.
Last summer we showed mostly in Sacramento with the introduction of Dominique Tarter to the group. Our young friend did quite well on her new project, Sadie, and this year we will commit to creating her comfort zone on our circuit. I think her mom is hooked too so Kim may play as well.
With the show schedule in general having so many changes in locations, this will be an interesting year and hopefully, all in all, the economy issues will let up and horsing will become easier.
I have a property full of old timers(horses that is) and feel humbled by the job required to maintain these wonderful soles. They have all taught so many and my efforts to keep them healthy and happy has almost become a career of its own. Ricky(Just Showing Off) and Trio(TripleT's) are just a couple of fabulous retired show troupers that live in my fields. Tommy, Pilot, Valle, Blue, JB, And Moonie also earn my deep gratitude at what they have done for their human friends. I wish they all were getting younger not older.
Tullia and her pony NEW HOPE, made their debut in fall and are learning the basic jumping skills that may get Tully into Short Stirrup this year. While she is learning she is just happy to play in the warmup ring with her friends and riding Idols. Thank you to those of you(you know who you are) that take a special interest in supporting my dear daughter. You are part of my village and she is lucky to have you all!
So for now I wish everyone a Healthy, Safe and successful horse year. I can't wait for our shows and Ii look forward to seeing my on-the-road family out there in H/J land!!!!
